Bake - Sew - Love

A couple days ago,  Jeannine from Grace and Peace left a lovely comment on my blog...so naturally I went to her blog to meet her and there found a wonderful cake recipe!
I decided to bake it for my family on the Feast of Epiphany and here we are the next day and the cake is no more...good cake.
I had was one teeny, teeny, tiny bite...and it tasted delicious!
I borrowed the bundt pan from my neighbor.
I sprayed the inside and floured it well and was very surprised when that cake released from the pan so perfectly!
I used 2/3 cup of the remaining mini chocolate chips, a bit of heavy cream, 1/4 tsp. of instant coffee and 1 Tbsp. of butter to make a ganache icing....mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
It was a hit!

After smiling baby left, I made the flannel princess pajama shirt to match the pj pants from my last post.
I think the little recipient of this gift might not want to take these off!

Smiling baby
yes, his chubba cheeks get kissed 4.2 million times per day!

Off to tar$$$$$get
wonder if I can sneak out of there spending less than 100 bucks???

  1. Oh, my, Cheryl, that is one scrumptious baby! The cake looks divine with that glossy ganache. The bundt shape is very lovely...it looks nice and lofty. The silicone pan I used gives nice detail, but the cake does not "climb" properly. And I know a certain little girl who would be delighted if I would buckle down and make some new princess pjs!

Thank you for the nice words...

  2. Thank you, Jeannine :) Yes, Scrumptious is his middle name! Make your sweet girl a pair of pj's...the fabric was from Hancock's and was purchased 50% off! Thanks for posting the cake recipe.

  3. Those jammies are darling (so is that baby!) but does not exactly look like a "quick sew." Of course, for you I'm sure it was!

  4. Thanks, Barbara :) No, the jammies took a little while - the top anyway - lots of attention to little matching type detail. Just the pattern is called Kwik Sew...always easier said than done! haha
