Definitely Not Diet Food....

....but very, very good!
I did make these cookies today and they are wonderful!
They would be perfect for gift giving.
I added 1/4 teaspoon of pure peppermint extract along with the 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract.
I like a little peppermint flavor in chocolate goodies at Christmas.
This recipe would also be scrumptious with chopped pecans inside.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the sewing room today....
I worked on the dresses for my lil patty collars.
I think they are so cute!
The pink whipstitch piping reminds me of candy canes.

I am making two side-collar Children's Corner Patty dresses (a size 1 and a size 2.)
This dress pattern is one of my all-time favorites for little girls!

Patty progress in my sewing room today -
Making these assembly-line style...
did both backs,
then both fronts,
then sewed shoulder fronts to shoulder backs...
next the collars will go on,
then side seams
and
sleeves,
then buttons and holes,
next hems.
the end

Hope you all have a joy-filled Gaudete Sunday tomorrow!

  1. Perfect looking collar Cheryl, and so glad to find this in my RSS feeds this morning! I left your blog on there, and imagine my surprise to find 28 new posts to read today. What a joy! Have a very Merry Christmas if I don't get Christmas cards out this year.

  2. Thanks, Erin :) When I started blogging again in July, I could not reuse my old url so I chose another one but didn't feel quite comfortable with it. Finally, I was able to get timesaflying back.

  3. The addition of peppermint to the recipe sounds scrumptious! I have to admit, if those cookies were in my house and those collars were in my sewing room, there might be some chocolate thumbprints where they shouldn't be!
    Hope your Sunday was lovely.

  4. Thanks, Jan :) My Sunday started out grumpy, but thankfully my overwhelmed state of mind has eased. The cookies are so good - my family loves them and I will be making more soon. I figure I'll just burn that treadmill rubber after Christmas. ;) I think Tom and Martin *need* some of these cookies! :)

  6. Hi Erin,
In March, I deleted my old blog. When I started again in July, I couldn't get my old url back. I guess some time had to go by before it became available. I chose another url in July and have been using that one. A few nights ago, I checked on my old url and sure enough it was available for use, so I grabbed it. Where have you been??? Probably cooking meals, homeschooling, doing laundry, and oh, that new baby boy too! :) Hope you all are having a wonderful Advent!
